‘We are thankful he has opened his eyes’

Former Bulls and Springbok flyhalf Derick Hougaard is believed to be displaying optimistic indicators of restoration after being hospitalised with pneumonia.

Hougaard misplaced consciousness almost two weeks in the past and has been within the Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria in a coma ever since.

Earlier this week, Hougaard’s buddy, singer Nadine, shared the information that the participant, affectionately referred to as “Liefling”, had suffered a setback as a consequence of his one lung collapsing.

But late on Thursday in a social media put up Nadine stated she was thankful to share the information that Hougaard, who performed eight Tests for the Springboks, had opened his eyes and was responsive.

‘Thankful and excited’

“The infection is down and he is responding to new antibiotics,” stated Nadine.

She additionally stated that the rugby participant was respiration higher.

“He is responding to questions and his brain functioning looks good.”

Hougaard although continues to be unable to talk due to the pipes in his throat, and he is alleged to be in a ache and is fatigued, based on Nadine.

“But, we are thankful and excited that he has opened his eyes,” she stated.

“We’re still praying for a full recovery. A thousand thank yous for all the prayers, faith and love.”
