Billy Horschel sprinted to the 18th tee, making an attempt desperately to tee off so he might finish his spherical earlier than play was suspended, but it surely did no good. The horn blew at 6:23 p.m. and Horschel, and 25 others, will return to PGA National Resort within the morning.
The winner of the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches will be selected Monday, as a 3 1/2-hour climate delay that passed off earlier on Sunday prevented the match from ending on time.

Lowry is 12 underneath, and Skinns is 11 underneath; each face approaches into the sixth inexperienced when play resumes on Monday. Also within the combine is Jake Knapp, final week’s winner, who’s 13 underneath and has three holes left to play.
Erik van Rooyen shot 63 on Sunday and, at 14 underneath, is the clubhouse chief.
Rory McIlroy closed with a 68, ending the par-5 18th in the dead of night. The excellent news for McIlroy? He’s now free to play Monday’s unique Seminole Pro-Member.
